Trauma-Informed Environments
At Crestwood, Trauma-Informed Environments are a Foundational Tool that we use to create cozy, therapeutic spaces at each campus. These environments reflect a homelike atmosphere where persons served can comfortably transition into our programs.
Crestwood strives to combat the stigmas associated with behavioral health campuses by establishing an interior design aesthetic that mirrors a warm, inviting setting, characterized by soft-soothing paint colors and furniture that are conducive to persons served recovery. At each campus, we identify certain spaces that can add to our therapeutic style and transform them into serenity rooms, comfort spaces, welcoming rooms, outdoor gardens, patios, and more. We pay close attention to detail and focus on intentional décor that reinforce a sense of relaxation in all areas of our campus from dining rooms and kitchens, to living spaces, common rooms, and dormitories. Our goal is to maximize comfort and establish homelike settings that help the people we serve focus on healing, well-being, and recovery.
We received recognition from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on the effectiveness of our environments and its ability to foster mental health recovery.
