Bakersfield - Freise HOPE House

Crestwood's Freise HOPE House helps each person served recover with an enhanced sense of resilience by giving them access to a wide range of wellness tools and staff support. We believe that the principles of wellness and recovery are an ongoing process, and persons served are active participants in that process. In order to provide effective mental health care, we employ individuals that mirror our core values and offer compassionate care through various recovery modalities. To encourage transformational change in the lives of the people we serve, all of our staff members are committed to honoring the Crestwood recovery model. We believe everyone can heal and recover when given the support, services, and love that nurtures the spirit. We believe that when persons served define what recovery means to them, they develop and hone strategies and skills to live the life that each individual desires.

At Crestwood's Freise HOPE House, persons served participate in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatment and practice that addresses suicidal behaviors by assisting persons served in learning skills that help them regulate their emotional responses to situations that occur in their lives. Persons served also create and maintain a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). WRAP is a self-help, evidence-based intervention recovery treatment designed to decrease negative mental health symptoms, increase personal responsibility, and improve quality of life. In addition to these services, we provide groups that teach the people we serve daily living activities and other coping and life skills.

Freise HOPE House is a Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) Program that provides a voluntary short-term place for persons served who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Our clinical treatment team is comprised of trained peer recovery coaches who possess lived experience and a range of clinical expertise to support the people we serve. During the admission process, persons served are greeted into a warm, comforting environment and are provided with a variety of recovery-based tools and Trauma-Informed Approaches. Our recovery tools help persons served manage their symptoms and build the necessary skills required for them to successfully live in the community.
