Vallejo

Crestwood Vallejo provides various programs to our persons served as they seek support in their recovery. This includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) treatment model, and pre-vocational training through the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network program.

DBT is an evidence-based therapeutic practice developed by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., at the University of Washington. DBT is used to treat persons served with Borderline Personality Disorder and assists them in learning skills that help them regulate their emotions. By adopting emotional regulation skills, persons served are empowered to choose healthier responses to life’s situations, where in the past, they may have previously responded in a self-destructive or aggressive manner. DBT comprehensive groups are offered bi-weekly for 12 weeks and consist of individual person served therapy sessions that are held weekly. During these sessions, a therapist reviews lines and diary cards that our persons served keep as part of their daily homework. DBT group sessions also feature weekly 2-5-hour training classes that focus on a number of other skills like, emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.

Persons served at Crestwood Vallejo also participate in a largely self-initiated recovery process, directed by their own unique Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). With WRAP, the people we serve progress through the structured levels of our program at their own pace and receive support every step of the way. Persons served are also offered unique job opportunities through our Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network program, a pre-vocational program that helps persons served learn skills to prepare them for work in the community. This program gives persons served the opportunity to work in various positions at the campus for a wage.

As part of the recovery process at our Vallejo campus, we offer a diverse array of classes ranging from core recovery to creative arts, independent living skills, holistic healing, and classes on breath and sound. Other personal empowerment opportunities include peer groups, such as: Dual Recovery Support, AA/NA, Special Men’s Issues, Women’s Assertiveness group, and DBT support groups. Our program also provides persons served with access to on-site educational opportunities and representatives from numerous faith groups who visit our campus each week, allowing for spiritual growth.
